This week we are helping transform the St Alexander Park in Lavender Hill. Once an oasis of strawberries, mielies and veg tended by Uncle Fred, its soils were contaminated by years of the burning of tyres to extract copper after he was forced to leave. Now the Village Growers have decided to transform it back into an oasis in the middle of a highly built up part of Lavender Hill.
